Virat Kohli vs Rohit Sharma
Who has been better in the IPL?

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are the biggest pillars of the Indian Cricket team, these two marquee players started playing IPL in its inaugural year, and both of them captained their respective IPL teams in the same year 2013. Virat Kohli for RCB & Rohit Sharma for Mumbai Indians.

As we all know, Virat Kohli stepped down from being a skipper of the Indian team recently and his franchise team RCB last year.

The current Indian team captain Rohit Sharma is leading his home franchise for the past 9 years and has won 5 titles under his badge. Whereas Virat Kohli's led RCB has just below 50% winning rate in IPL and also has reached IPL finals only once in 2016 & hasn't won any under his cap.

Let's take the records of these iconic cricketers.

Virat Kohli has played 210 IPL matches to become the leading run-scorer in the league by scoring 6341 Runs with an average of 37.30 and a strike rate of 130+. The former Skipper has been a successful player under his captaincy, he has scored 40+ Half-centuries and 5 hundred in the IPL. His highest runs in the particular year came in 2016 when he scored 973 runs at an average of 81.08, He has scored 4 centuries and 7 half-centuries that particular season.

He's been not out for 32 times in the entire IPL with banging 212 Sixes and 549 Fours.

The former skipper is expected to showcase his old cult form back in the T20i this season. Let's see what he's up to.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma has been the successful captain for Mumbai Indians with a winning percentage of 60% in IPL. More than an individual he's someone who groomed the team and clinched the IPL trophies five times and has become the only captain to do it in the IPL.

He has a batting record of scoring most no of 400+ runs in a particular IPL season, he's next to Suresh Raina and he's been expected to surpass him in the coming year. He's the third-highest run-scorer in the IPL with 5665 runs from 216 matches at an average of 30.96 with a 130.17 Strike rate.

He has scored 40 half-centuries and just one hundred so far with 230 Sixes and 495 fours in his entire IPL career.
When it comes to batting, Virat Kohli is way ahead of Rohit Sharma in IPL and but when it comes to captaincy, Rohit Sharma has been the most successful captain in IPL next to MS Dhoni.

In this ongoing season, both the former and current skippers of the Indian team have scored just 58(Virat Kohli) & 54(Rohit Sharma) respectively from the 3 matches they have played so far.

Both the players have a huge fan following among world cricket fans, they both are expected to be back in their prolific form. Which would help the Indian team in winning their upcoming T20 WC.
